Summer Vermont comes alive in the warm months. Cool off with tubing, rafting, or swimming in the Winooski River just minutes away, or enjoy a family beach day at Lake Iroquois. It’s the perfect season for grilling on the deck, exploring Shelburne Farms, or taking a sunset cruise on Lake Champlain. End summer days with a local "creemee" - a Vermont-specific, extra-creamy version of soft-serve ice cream.
Fall The foliage here is world-famous for a reason. Take in the vibrant reds and oranges on a hike up Camel’s Hump or Preston Pond, or enjoy a scenic drive through the Green Mountains. Don’t miss a trip to any of our local orchards for apple picking and Cold Hollow Cider Mill for fresh cider donuts and a watch of the pressing in action.
Winter Richmond is a snowy wonderland. We are just 20 minutes from Bolton Valley for skiing and riding (day or night!), or you can visit the historic Cochran’s Ski Area for a classic local vibe. After a day of snowshoeing on the property or sledding nearby, warm up by the wood stove with hot cocoa.
Spring This is the sweetest time of year in Vermont. Visit local sugarhouses to watch maple syrup being boiled and taste "sugar on snow." It’s also the best time to see the waterfalls at Huntington Gorge roaring with snowmelt, or to catch some incredible spring skiing on the remaining base.
